The following are pictures of the various stages in building a stone veneer retaining wall.
Pictures 1 & 2- The original design called for an 8' Diameter half round overlook at the far end of the residence. The foundation contractor had a 9' diameter form he had recently built for another job. We adjusted and saved a big hassle and cost.
3- It is a stone veneer retaining/ sitting wall that is 13 to 14' at it's highest point. The design was reviewed by a structural engineer and was completed early enough to be included in the architectural plans.
4- New England Fieldstone veneer, in progress. The design allowed the grade to slope down to a small pond while keeping the architectural lines strong.
5- Finished wall. Landscaping next.
6 & 7- Two openings in the sitting wall were created to allow views to and from the house. It also leessened the large wall impact if let as a solid unit.
8 & 9- Rear yard wall/ step system to walk out basement.
